Even more wedding venues

As you are planning your wedding, here are a few more places for you in the Houston Metro area (which includes Spring, Tomball, Sugarland, Katy, etc.).  Depending on the size of your wedding guest list, any of these places can accommodate you.  As always, contact the venue directly for more information to see how they can best serve you.  Check and see what options they have for your wedding ceremony and reception, catering options, how large is the dance floor, and anything else you can think of that will help you planning your wedding.

Spring Chateau

Spring Chateau is located in the Spring/Tomball area and offer several rooms depending on the size of your wedding guest list.  they also have an indoor chapel and an outdoor gazebo where you can hold your wedding ceremony.

Demer’s Banquet Hall

Demer’s Banquet Hall is located in Southwest Houston off Hwy 59 South and is perfect for intimate weddings.  The area can be used for both the ceremony and reception with a nice dance floor and area for either a DJ or a live band.  The staff at Demer’s did an excellent job of serving the bride and groom and their guest and the food was GREAT!  I was especially impressed with the wedding cake they prepared…

Zach and Kim’s wedding

I met Zach through a mutual friend, Terry Randle.  After speaking with him and seeing what he needed, I was honored to be a part of their wedding day.  the ceremony was held at Demers Banquet Hall in Southwest Houston and it was a beautiful venue (which I will blog about later).  I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Kim until the wedding day, but Zach was quite fortunate to find her :) .  There were the usual emotional moments in the wedding ceremony, but there was a lot of fun for all at the reception!  My best wishes to Kim and Zach for many years of wedded bliss!

I work with some great wedding photographers

Every now and then, I get the opportunity to assist another photographer and be a “second shooter” to their primary.  It gives the bride and groom more choices and different angles to their wedding ceremony (one can shoot from the lower level of a Church and the other can shoot from the balcony, for example).  This also gives the second photographer a chance to “step out of the box” and be more creative.  Depending on the size of the wedding (wedding party and wedding guests), sometimes, having more than one photographer can be an asset.  If you have a smaller wedding, it could be overkill and you end up getting the same shots over and over.

I had the opportunity to shoot with two great photographers a while ago.  The first was Monique Montoya of Perspectives at the wedding of Cathy and William.  The wedding ceremony was held at West University United Methodist Church and the reception was held at the Cohen House at Rice University.  The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and the reception was a blast.  they had a live band and that band rocked the house all night!

Here are some shots of the ceremony at West University UMC

These ladies were FUN to work with!!!

one of my favorite shots of the evening was some of the ones Monique set up at the Arch at Rice University.  She is very creative and it helps to have a wedding party that like to have a good time!

I also had the opportunity to work with Brad of Light Writer Photography shooting the wedding of Greg and Phoung.  The ceremony was held at Vargo’s Restaurant, which is a great venue to hold both the wedding ceremony as well as the reception.  Their reception was held at the Kim Son restaurant off hwy 59 South near Sugarland.  This was a sweet couple and they were a pleasure to work with..  Kim Son was beautifully decorated and the food was great!  The wedding cake was lovely and I haven’t seen ice sculptures that nice in a while.

did I mention the peacocks?

More of Houston’s wedding venues

In addition to the other post I made regarding places in Houston to hold your wedding ceremony or wedding reception (post is here if you missed it), I have a few more that you can consider.  While most of these are located in Houston, there are some listed that are located in Spring, Texas and Tomball, Texas as well.  When looking for a venue, please consider the size of your wedding party, (not just the bridal party, but the number of invited guests).  you don’t want to get a place that holds 300 and you invite 500.  you also don’t want to get a place that holds 300 and you only invited 100 as that would be wasted space and wasted money and considering the current economy, that might not be a good idea.

Marriott West Loop by the Galleria

This room is actually on the second level and has a great view.  Since this room faces east, it might not be that great for an early morning wedding (10 or earlier), but it is ideal for any time after that.

Brenner’s on the Bayou

Brenner’s Steakhouse actually has two locations in Houston, Texas, but this one is off Memorial Dr and has a beautiful garden area, lovely gazebo and the restaurant area will hold a large crowd in its rooms.

McCormick and Schmick’s Uptown Park

I actually shot this room during a Christmas Party, but I loved the layout so much that I immediately thought how nice it would look for a wedding reception!

Hilton Greenspoint (formerly the Wyndham Greenspoint)

The Hilton has a very nice and very large ballroom downstairs as well as a “smaller” room upstairs.  Both rooms could accommodate both the ceremony and reception for your guests.  These are shots from the smaller room:

and this is the larger room where the bride and groom held the ceremony and reception in (they used a partition to split the room).

Chateau Crystale

I have had the opportunity to photograph this place several times and I absolutely LOVE this ballroom!  It has a large dance floor and it’s always well lit and there are plenty of places to shoot!

Spring Chateau

This place has several locations available, depending on the size of you wedding party, both indoor and outdoor locations.  This particular wedding was shot in the Fall (Halloween Night to be exact) and they used the outdoor gazebo.

La Tranquila Ranch – Tomball, Texas

I posted a few of these from a wedding I did there back in January, but here are a few more of the layout:

The Houston, Texas Metro area has a lot of great places that can be used for your wedding ceremony and reception.  Each one has a personality all its own and I’m sure you can find one to fit your style and your budget.

The Wedding of Keith and Elvi Cronin

Ok, as a wedding photographer in the Houston area, this is starting to sound like a cliché’, but this was a great couple!  They traveled down here to have their wedding as their family is from different parts of the Country and I’m glad they had their ceremony here!  The wedding ceremony and the wedding reception were held at The Forest Club at 9950 Memorial Drive and it was beautiful from start to finish.  The ceremony was held outside at sunset and the reception was held inside with a buffet dinner and live band.  It was hard to pick out some favorites because there were so many, but here are at least a few:

The Beautiful Bride

His first look at her that day (and that smile stayed on his face all night)

Did I mention that the bride was beautiful that day?

The Bridesmaids (at a shy moment):

the cute couple:

The groom and his men also having a little fun (and yes there is a story behind the guy they are all looking at):

and the flower girls were simply adorable!

the Groom was just a little bit of a baseball fan (and I wasn’t hating since I love the Astros):

Their first dance

and a private moment afterward

did I mention that he used to be in a boy band????? Maybe ready to go on the N’Sync Reunion Tour :)

one parting shot of the happy couple as they leave for the night:
