Lovely Chapel Dulcinea Wedding

I love working with those that are serving or were once active Military.  I have a great respect for those that chose to sacrifice to allow me the freedoms I enjoy.  I had the honor of shooting a wedding for a lovely couple, Heather and MJ.  They are from Houston, but chose to have their wedding at a lovely location in Austin, Texas (in the hill country) called Chapel Dulcinea.  It is a lovely open air wedding chapel with a fantastic view.  It is ideal for small, intimate wedding ceremonies, especially weddings at sunset with the romantic gas lights and the lovely sunset colors.

There is a changing room available for the bride so she doesn’t have to arrive dressed.  There are several lovely locations around Chapel Dulcinea to shoot as well so that once the ceremony is completed, you can get some fantastic bridal portraits or portraits of the bride and groom.  I love the traditional bell ringing part of the ceremony as well.

Ceci and Tim

Often, as a wedding photographer, it’s great to shoot the big fancy “platinum weddings”, who doesn’t like seeing those?  But what is just as special, if not more special to me are the nice, quiet, sweet, intimate ceremonies, where the couple and a few close family and friends share.  this was the case with Ceci and Tim.  Tim has family here and they came to Houston to renew their vows (they are both Active Military and got married a few years ago right before he was deployed).  After the ceremony, we took a few family shots and then the couple and I went to the Museum district in Downtown Houston and took some portraits.  This was a great couple and I enjoyed my time with them!

Chris and Crystal

How’s that song go again? “I’m proud to be an American”.    One of the joys of my job as a wedding photographer is being able to give back to those that make the ultimate sacrifice to protect me (Military as well as Fire and Police – I even offer discounts to those in Active service) and I was given that opportunity at the wedding of Chris and Crystal Floeck.  He is active Military and they held their wedding at the La Tranquila Ranch (the Villa) in Tomball Texas.  The family was very close and it showed the entire evening.

Before I show the wedding, here are a few of Crystal’s Bridal portrait session.  We were scheduled to shoot at the South Shore Park in the Woodlands, but the cool weather changed our plans so we ended up using one of the model homes for D. R. Horton in Jacob’s Reserve in Conroe, Texas (I work for the company in my day job, but I’m not in Real Estate or Home sales)

and now on to the wedding!
